Dilp kumar
When a shy 22-year-old son of a Pathan fruit merchant was chosen for Indian cinema...and he was chosen by the diva...Davikarani...she cast him in Bombay Talkies' film "Jowar Bhata" (released in 1944). I was selected for the job...the young man's name was slightly changed. Yusuf Khan had become Dilip Kumar.
It was the beginning of a legend in Indian cinema and the first decisive actor of Hindi cinema was born. Dilip Kumar showed the essence of his acting in several successful films one after another. These included the following films: …
# Shaheed (1948) # Style (1949)
# Devdas (1955) # New Era (1957)
# Ganga Yamuna (1961) # Azad (1955)
# Koh Noor (1960) # Mughal Azam (1960)
# Ram and Shyam (1967) # Gopi (1970)
# Kranti (1970) # Shakti (1982)
# Meshal (1984) # Merchant (1991)
Dilip Kumar Sahib gave excellent and brilliant acting throughout his career and every prominent actor not only respected him but also made his acting a role model for them... He never even visited any acting school. Rather, he had invented his own method of acting.
Dileep Sahib has been praised spontaneously and other actors have been inspired by his acting. Apart from his acting, his voice fluctuating has become a role model for all of us actors.
Among his numerous fans and followers, only a few are aware of the fact that Dileep has always been an avid reader, be it novels...plays...or biographies...his love for classical literature has been undying. . Urdu … Persian … and English literature adorns the cupboards of our house … All the years of my life I have spent with him, I have often seen him engrossed in his studies under the light of a table lamp in the dark of night. This study continues till early morning … whether we are in our home in Bombay … or in some remote post bungalow in Jammu and Kashmir … in Switzerland or in any part of the world … when they Studying … They are immersed in their studies like a child is immersed in its favorite game … I request them again and again to rest now. If the study fails, they sit down to write a script or a scene to be filmed the next morning
He worked in one film at a time and kept his focus on that film and worked on it with full dedication.
I remember one time he was a producer late at night in blood-freezing cold in Kulu during the outdoor shooting of a film called Saudagar. Director Shabhash was writing the scenes with Ghai and discussing them... eventually he sent Shabhash to rest in his room... and himself went through the scenes with gusto and passion. At around 4:30 in the morning Dilip sir had an idea which was a brilliant idea and he did not wake up Shubash from his sleep to discuss his idea with him! Then they were busy working on both the scenes like bees doing their work and even finalized the scene and happily started the outdoor schedule in the morning. .
With the completion of his autobiography, my joy has doubled as a dream has come true... Part I of this book will take you on his journey. The experiences he narrates will tell you how the entity called Dilip Kumar came to be. And how Yusuf Khan traveled to Dilip Kumar.
In fact... in this unorthodox preface what I can share or what I like to share are the unseen and unknown sides of the man and actor that I have had the good fortune to know and know deeply since the age of 12. Loved them since the first time I saw them.
I want to give what is full of his admirers and admirers … through the events and episodes recorded in the book … with the simplicity of Dilip Sahib's character … with the truth and sincerity and with the immense goodness of the heart.
